Bread Givers

Bread Givers is a story set in the dispirit East Side of New York, during the 1910s of a family named Smolinsky. It is an instantly autobiography of Anzia Yezierska, the author of this book. Anzia Yezierska was born in a shtetl, in Plotsk in Russian Poland and immigrated to the United States in the 1890s. She was born in a very poor family headed by her father, a Talmudic scholar. She grew up in the Jewish ghetto. Likewise, the Smolinsky family was a very poor Jewish orthodox family, who had immigrated to the United States from Poland. This was a period of hunger, starvation and hardship. The of present moment character in the novel, Sara Smolinsky, is an accurate fictionalized character of the author itself. The Smolinsky is a family consisting of four daughters and the parents. The protagonist, Sara is the youngest one and is aged ten at the outset of the story. She is the most rational and independent of all the girls. Her journey is the plead betwee n a father of the Old World and a daughter of the New World. . Masha is the pretty and useless sis, worry or care of any kind could never get itself into Mashahs empty head. Fania is also looking for a job. The eldest sis is Bessie, the only person who has a job and the breadwinner The story starts shit when Sara is at her home peeling potatoes for dinner. Her eldest sister Bessie comes in very tired, implying that she yet not has fix a job. The Smolinsky family seize yet not paid the rent and were on the scepter of being thrown out to shame and laughter for the ripe and sound world to see. The other sister, Fania also had not found a job as half the shops are close. Meanwhile, Mashah is in addition grouchy fixing and admiring her beauty and hat in the mirror. hitherto though she lived in the same dirt and trouble as them, naught ever pained her. She was always in a fiddling world, unlike the others.
