Stephen Kings Dolans Cadillac takes place in modern time and is about a man named Robinson taking revenge on Dolan for murdering his wife. Both main characters are cookery on flummoxting revenge on another man by the means of murder. However, the reason for revenge is slightly incompatible in each situation.

In The Cask of Amontillado, Montresors enkindle is triggered by an insult from Fortunato. Robinsons reason for revenge seems to a greater extent more justified. Dolan murdered Elizabeth Robinson because she was going to testify aga inst him.
